Women Leading Life (WiLL)

A Global Cultural Movement

WiLL is a cultural movement that is primed to operate during peace, war and post-war periods for the purpose of promoting and protecting life. It is international and humanistic in nature, transcending borders like the Red Cross.  This Culture of Life program works on the presumption of ‘pre-emptive’ peace. By promoting the Culture of Life, peace lovers will neutralize the forces and conditions that lead to violence and destruction.

The Philosophy of WiLL is grounded in David Kazzaz's Life Manifesto, A Guide to a Safer World (2009)

Charter

Founding Beliefs and Values:

         The celebration, enrichment, and improvement of life are essential to sustaining society and building the infrastructure for peace in the world.

         The culture of death, in which death is promoted, imposed and glorified as a goal, in itself, has supplanted the value of life in many communities and allowed violence and terrorism to reign.  Once a culture of death infiltrates a community, social, economic and educational aspects of life are suppressed.

            Women play a unique role as bearers of life; and, for this reason, we believe women can lead by encouraging the celebration of life and discouraging the glorification of violent death.

Description:  World’s Women for Life is an international, nonpolitical movement designed to neutralize forces that lead to violence and destruction by building societies that celebrate, protect, and improve life for all.  The umbrella organization promotes the development of chapters around the world, and provides them with mission, philosophy, and guidelines.

Mission: To promote a culture that protects, improves, and celebrates life through advocacy and education, using the basic pillars of society:  home, schools, religious institutions, the media, art, and government.

Goals:

         To eliminate the rhetoric of death that leads to murders and terrorism.

         To increase capacity for social, economic, and educational programs that nurture life.

         To establish a nonpolitical advocacy network that promotes life at local, national, and      international levels.

         To advocate for the rule of law and the outlawing acts of terrorism, which inevitably lead to killing one’s own people.

         To collaborate and coordinate with other nonpolitical, life-promoting organizations to establish a culture of life.

         To research and document the efficacy of the efforts to establish a culture of life.

Guiding principles: Chapters of World’s Women For Life must:

         Maintain independence from political organizations and movements. Every effort should be made to avoid even the appearance of supporting the aims of politically-motivated groups. It is important to note, for example, that WWFL is not connected with either “Right to Life” or “Pro-Choice’ movements about abortion in the US.

         Adhere to the mission and goals of the Charter.

         Operate under the leadership of local women who are native to their communities and support the mission of WWFL. Men who support the mission and charter also may be involved.

         Establish locally-oriented goals and activities that support the WWFL mission and charter. Within these guiding principles, each chapter should focus on the needs of its own community and raise its own funds.
